The Panasonic HDC-SD1 HD Camcorder

Holding the Panasonic HDC-SD1 HD Camcorder in your hands is an exquisite experience.  The interface is pretty neatly arranged and all the features are accessible at a thumbs-range. The compact size and handgrip give a solid hold on the camera, but the only grouse seems to be the four-way navigation joystick, which is placed far to the right. After the $200 slash it id priced almost at the range of DVD-based counterpart, the HDC-DX1. Roll over for the specs.

Sony Ericsson Camera Phone Kit IPK-100 for Cyber-shot phone

Sony Ericsson announces the camera phone kit IPK-100 specifically designed for Cyber-shot phone users. The kit includes a Cyber-shot branded protective case for your phone, which can be attached to a belt or kept in a bag, and a micro tripod with flexible legs and friction feet that allows you to hold the camera steady for the self-timer. The black micro tripod with 97mm height weighs 49g only.

The camera phone kit IPK-100 includes: Case, tripod, tripod connector, belt clip. It will be available globally from Q2 2007.

Seagate Momentus 7200.2 rpm 2.5″ Hard Drive with 3GB/s

Seagate has started shipping their Momentus 7200.2 rpm hard drives with a 3 Gb/s SATA interface. Featuring a 2.5-inch form factor, it’s available in 80, 100, 120 and 160GB capacity. It’s robust design and high shock tolerance enable mobility in rugged notebook operating environments.

Fujitsu was the first one to announce a 3GB/s HDD last week, but their drives won’t be shipping until May.

LG R400 - Featuring Hybrid Hard Drive

LG is planning to launch a laptop which packs a high speed booting, battery saving hybrid hard drive.  The 14.1-inch R400 sports 1.73GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5300 processor, 120GB hybrid storage, 1GB RAM, and 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 graphics card.

It also includes Bluetooth and in-built 1.3-megapixel webcam. The R400 is priced at $1,016 and will be unveiled later this month.

JVC HD Everio GZ-HD7 First Consumer Full High-Definition 3-CCD Camcorder

JVC HD Everio GZ-HD7 is the first consumer full High-Definition 3-CCD camcorder capable of shooting and recording full HD images (1920 x 1080i). The camcorder also features a Fujinon lens used in broadcast video cameras, now being used in a consumer camcorder for the first time.

The new JVC Everio GZ-HD7 allows consumers to conveniently capture and share their memories in full high definition without the need for removable tapes or discs, and offers the simplicity of a point-and-shoot camcorder combined with the features, technology and manual controls that appeal to the serious videographer. With a 60GB built-in hard drive the JVC HD Everio provides up to five hours of full HD 1920×1080i recording at a high 30Mbps(MAX). For bright, realistic colors the HD Everio uses three 1/5-inch CCDs – one each for red, green and blue, incorporating 16:9 progressive scan CCDs and pixel shift technology. Other features include optical image stabilization, a full array of manual controls, multiple digital connections, bundled editing and archiving software, and availability of an optional HD Everio SHARE STATION for easily transferring high definition footage to disc.

In addition to its highest quality Full HD recording mode that records five hours of full HD 1920×1080i MPEG2 Transport Stream video with MPEG 1 Layer 2 audio, the HD Everio offers a long seven-hour SP mode with a resolution of 1440×1080i, and an HDV-i.LINK streaming compatible constant bit rate 1440CBR mode with a resolution of 1440×1080i and a five-hour capacity. Also, because it records in the MPEG2 Transport Stream video format, HD Everio recordings can be archived onto Blu-ray discs using provided software and a high definition Blu-ray recorder.JVC HD Everio HD Hard Disk camcorder GZ-HD7 will be available in April for $1,799.95
